Gavin Hamilton is a proud Arizona native whose passion for public service was shaped by his experiences living and working in both rural and urban communities across the Valley. This regional perspective informs his commitment to building more equitable, sustainable, and accessible communities through local policy. While studying Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University, Gavin became especially passionate about expanding access to education, reforming the criminal legal system, and strengthening civic infrastructure to better serve historically underrepresented communities. His professional background reflects a strong foundation in community engagement and campaign operations. He organized with RISE to increase youth civic participation and supported campaign operations as a Special Assistant with the Gallego for Arizona Senate campaign. He currently serves as a Crowdfunding Assistant with the ASU Foundation for a New American University, where he helps students and faculty design and implement fundraising campaigns that advance innovation, service, and community impact. Through the Marvin Andrews Fellowship, Gavin looks forward to strengthening his leadership and policy skills to address the complex challenges facing Arizona’s cities. He aspires to serve as a leader in local government, working to create inclusive, future-ready communities rooted in collaboration, accessibility, and equity.
